The Elephant Charge was inspired by the Rhino Charge in Kenya.
Four wild Zambian 4×4 enthusiasts, who had participated in Kenya, felt the conservation needs in Zambia also needed to be addressed, and set about organising the first Charge in 2008.
It has now grown to some 500+ campers, 35 teams and 30+ sponsors.
The beneficaries are all Zambian grassroots conservation organisations
The Charge would not be possible without the support and sponsorship of many companies who help to cover the costs of the event.
The committee comprises of conservation minded volunteers who bring their own particular skillset to the organisation.
